Since its foundation, Energica Motor Company has always been committed to the constant research of innovation in the motorcycling sector, with an eye to the future but also with solid roots in the Italian Motor Valley – which itself has been synonymous for excellence in the automotive sector. In this sense, the partnerships with high-profile suppliers have been of vital importance, and the one forged between technical partner Sprint Filter and Energica – the single manufacturer of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup – fits perfectly in the R&D plans of the Modena-based company.

Sprint Filter is an internationally renowned organisation with almost 70 years of experience not just in air filters and aspiration systems, but also active in the biomedical fields and more. The company will make available its know-how as well as manufacture bespoke air filters for the 18 Ego Corsa machines that will take to the track in the second edition of the MotoE World Cup, which will have its season opener on May 3rd at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.

The use of air filters – an innovative solution in the EV industry – will allow a more efficient cooling process of the battery pack fitted into the Energica race machines, especially in those rounds featuring three sessions close together on the same day. The more efficient temperature management will allow for a smoother charging process within the MotoE events on the calendar. The units will be positioned alongside the battery pack, a solution designed by Energica and made possible by engineers at Sprint Filter.

Sprint Filter has made a special kit of six air filters for Energica Motor Company using their own, patented P037 item, the only water-proof air filter for both internal combustion and electric motors in the world. Sprint Filter’s air filter P037 – as with every other air filter made by the company– is essentially free from maintenance. This air filter ensures a constant filtration and value of the air flow over time. In terms of efficiency, the polyester filter P037 maintains the 100% of di 37 μ. particles, while the air flow amounts to 4500 m2/s.

Sprint Filter will make its debut together with Energica in the first of two official tests at Jerez de la Frontera, taking place on March 10-12 at the Andalusian venue.

“We’re really happy with the partnership forged with Sprint Filter, a very well known and appreciated institution in the automotive and motorsport sectors for several decades now,” said Energica’s CTO Giampiero Testoni. “Energica is always looking for innovative solutions that can help bring forward the development path of the company, which has already led to incredible results in a short time span and allowed the creation of the MotoE World Cup – of which Energica is the single manufacturer. The first edition of the series has been a success and now we’re ready for a second, exciting season.”

Fabrizio Marcucci (Sprint Filter Marketing & Sales Director): “We’re extremely proud with this long-term partnership with Energica Motor Company, a globally known institution which is known for the high-quality of their motorcycles – so much that it was selected as single manufacturer of the MotoE World Cup. To be their supplier is a great testimony for the quality of our products.”
