One of the biggest barriers to electric…
For potential converts from endothermic machines is the fear that their batteries will run out of juice before their motorcycles have run out of miles. But as experienced EV owners can tell you, this fear is groundless.
The reality is that the hi-input and output lithium-ion batteries such as used by Energica have a lifespan of at least 1,200 cycles of DC Fast Charging before losing any noticeable power. So long as you take care of your battery, it will take care of you (see our Global Charging Compatibility section for more on this topic.)
Nevertheless, at the end of 2022 we recognized this concern and launched our Extended Warranty program, which allowed Energica customers within a year of purchase to opt into a 2-year extended warranty, bringing the total battery warranty period up to 5 years.
Energica is now pleased to announce an EXTEND YOUR RIDE program that now extends that eligibility period for Energica customers from the previous 12 months to a full 36 months since the date of original registration.
In other words, if your current Energica motorcycle is still within the standard 3-year battery warranty period, you could be eligible to extend that warranty a further two years. To sign up for the EXTEND YOUR RIDE program, you must act by May 31, 2024 – so contact your authorized Energica dealer right away.
EXTEND YOUR RIDE Extended Warranty Rules:
The Warranty Extension benefits customers with an additional conventional period of warranty on the battery pack, starting from the thirty-sixth month after the vehicle was purchased, for another 24 months but in all cases limited to 75,000 km/47,000 mi (total km/mi travelled from when the vehicle was purchased), if earlier.
Under the current Energica Extended Warranty program, customer motorcycles were only eligible if activated within the first 12 months from date of first registration. Now for a limited time, Energica will allow customers to apply so long as their motorcycle is within the 3-year battery warranty period – extending eligibility to 36 months instead of 12 months. The deadline to contact your authorized Energica dealer to take advantage of this extended window for eligibility is May 31, 2024.
Purchasing this Warranty Extension allows you to have:
•Complete protection from unexpected repair costs.
•No upfront repair costs.
•Warranty valid in all Energica official distribution markets, at Energica Dealers and/or Authorised Assistance Network”) worldwide.
•In the event of resale, the warranty, for its residual duration, will pass to the new purchaser.
•Greater value of your Energica motorcycle, in case of resale.
We do this to provide more peace of mind for riders worried about an emerging technology – electric – and about the reliability and longevity of their batteries. As riders more familiar with internal combustion engines convert to electric for the first time, it’s a logical concern – and hence this EXTEND YOUR RIDE program.
The EXTEND YOUR RIDE program ends on May 31, 2024 after which time we return to the previous one-year deadline for extended warranty eligibility.
All the other existing rules for the Energica Extended Warranty remain the same, as noted below.
1.The total mileage of the motorcycle, at the time of requesting the activation of the warranty extension, cannot exceed 10,000km/6,200mi from the date of first registration.
2.The customer must visit their Energica dealership for a battery status check.
3.The dealer, working with the Energica Service team, after appropriate diagnosis showing the battery is free of problems, then informs the customer they are eligible for the extension of the warranty contract.
